Networking Opportunities Sept . 24-28

September 24, 2012

Friends,

Some unique events this week along with the usual weekly stuff.
Monday, if you’re currently in ProMatch, Post-ProMatch or thinking about joining ProMatch, consider attending “Steve’s Drop In Coaching”, 1pm to 2:30 at Connect.
Tuesday morning there is Bio2Device at the Sunnyvale City Council Chambers, topic is “Global Regulatory Environment for Medical Devices” with Speaker Patrick Lee

Later on Tuesday, you can walk from the Council Chamber to Connect for ToastMatchers, 1pm.
Wednesday evening at Triple Ring in Newark, there is the monthly “ASQ Northern California Biomedical Discussion Group” topic is “Sampling Plans, with featured speaker John Zoric. http://www.linkedin.com/groups/September-ASQ-Biomedical-Northern-California-1027567.S.160791118

Thursday at 8am there might be Eco Green Group in Saratoga, or it might be their meeting is in the evening this week, they do that once per month.  At the time of this writing it their website has not been updated. www.ecogreengroup.org
Later ( or long before ) in the same room ( or perhaps not ) , Csix meets at 10:15, speaker this time is John Hadley presenting “How to Use Storytelling to Get Hired”

Thursday night the MIT Club presents The Future of U.S. Solar Photovoltaic Technology, with speaker Tonio Buonassisi, MIT Professor

This will be at PARC in Palo Alto, pricey but in the past there have been excellent snack foods and wine.  Never been disappointed with this group.
However if I weren’t intent on the MIT event, I would certain attend this event instead, IEEE-CMPT presents “The Origins of Silicon Valley: Why and How It Happened Here” with speaker  Paul Wesling.  Register in advance and it’s five bucks for unemployed and students.  Buffet dinner, all  you can eat.  The bar there is so-so or better, reasonably priced. http://www.cpmt.org/scv/meetings/cpmt1209l.html
Last week I put out some information which was incomplete or proved later to be incorrect.  Mike’s Sports Bar closed, so the SF Peninsula Medical Device Meetup moved to the Westin in Palo Alto.  Similarly, “Thirsty Third Thursday” was not in Mountain View but at Faultline in Sunnyvale.  If anyone went to the wrong place, well, that’s one I owe ya.
Thanks,
Guy D.
